Company profile

The “May Company Ukraine” is a marketing-oriented innovative company with a 20-year history. May Company Ukraine owns the following tea brands: Maisky, Lisma, Curtis, Richard which repeatedly became winners of the international competitions. Our tea is hand-picked on the best plantations of the world (Ceylon, India, China, Kenya, and Vietnam) and is notable for its original compositions, created by our own tea tasters. The high quality of our products is verified by the Center of Independent Consumer Expertise and by numerous awards in tasting competitions. The Company possesses a modern manufacturing and logistic complex with a total area of 9 500 m2 which is located in Obukhiv town, Kyiv region. The complex is equipped in accordance with modern international standards and has a high-capacity distribution system that covers all the regions of Ukraine. The Company’s quality management system is certificated in accordance with the international standard ISO 9001:2008 and International Featured Standard. Among the Company's trade partners are the leading transnational retail chains and restaurant chains (METRO Group, Auchan, ATB, Fozzy Group, McDonald’s). 

Our core competence is the production of high-quality tea in accordance with the international quality standards, ensuring the needs and preferences. We aim at meeting the growing demands, wishes and tastes of our most sophisticated consumers. We believe that our commitment to excellence contributes to the prosperity of the society in which we live. History

1996 

The “May Company Ukraine” started its activities in Ukraine.

1998

A factory for the “Maisky tea” packing and baling was opened in Obukhiv town, Kyiv region. 

A new product “Lisma”, the quality tea brand at a reasonable price, was launched.

2001

The “Maisky tea” was added to the Top 100 list of the biggest advertisers of Ukraine.

Active development of the HoReCa segment: the “Maisky tea” exposure in McDonald’s, Mister Snack and Rostiks fast food restaurants.

2002 

The “Maisky tea” was awarded with the Golden Trademark of Ukraine award. That year the “Maisky tea” appeared in Smachna Kartoplya, Trali-Vali and Shvydko fast food restaurants. 

2003

Further development of the HoReCa sector: the “Maisky tea” exposure in Zhar Pizza, Babusyni Mlynzi, Tri Tolstyaka and Metrofood fast food restaurants.

The important event in the Company’s life was its participation in Agro-2003 exhibition.

That year the Black Diamond bagged tea became a winner of the National Rating "The Best Trade Mark of Ukraine" 

The May Company Ukraine was awarded with the  Golden Mercury award for its special contribution in economic rehabilitation of Ukraine and integration processes development. 

2004

The “Maisky tea” was rewarded by the Center of Independent Consumer Expertise TEST for the excellent quality and won the nomination Tea of the year by the price/quality balance in the Choice of the Year competition.

The All-Ukrainian Image Research Center awarded the Company with a honorary diploma The leading enterprise of Ukraine.

2005

The “Maisky tea” iteratively won the nomination Tea of the year by the price/quality balance in the Choice of the Year competition.

2006

The “Maisky tea” became a winner in the nomination Tea of the year by the price/quality balance in the Choice of the Year competition for the third time.

The Company enlarged its portfolio by a new brand CURTIS, actively increasing its presence in the tea market. 

2007

The Company completed the ISO 9001:2000 certification.

2008 

The Company went through an internal audit in ISO 9001:2000.

2009

The Company became a sponsor of the IV International competition in gymnastics rhythmic  “Carpathia”.

2010

The Company completed the ISO 9001:2008 recertification.

2011

The Company purchased a modern manufacturing and logistic complex with a total area of 9 500 m2 equipped in accordance with modern international standards. 

That year the Chamber of Appeals of the State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine made a decision to recognise the “Maisky tea” as the famous trademark in Ukraine.

Within the framework of the 14th International foods and drinks exhibition World Food Ukraine 2011 there was a tasting competition of tea and coffee WORLD TEA & COFFEE UKRAINE where the “Curtis” won 2 golden medals for quality: “Curtis Mango Green Tea” and “Curtis Bountea White Tea”. The Company was granted the right to place the logo of the medal on the product label.

The May Company Ukraine was included to the Top-20 of the National Business Rating  “Industry Leader 2011” in the nomination “Unspecialized foods wholesaling”, thereby it obtained the recognition of the manufacturing company which contributed to both economic growth of Ukraine and social protection of citizens of Ukraine. 

2012

The company implemented ISO 2200 Food Safety Management Systems. 

An external audit by standards McDonalds and METRO Cash&Carry suppliers was conducted, which confirmed that the system and processes met the customers’ expectations. 

The Company received 3 golden and 5 silver medals in the tasting competition Tea Triumph within the framework of the PRODEXPO Ukraine exhibition.

Mango Green Tea and Bountea White Tea of the Curtis received the Grand Prix at the XV International tasting competition in the frame of International exhibition World Food Ukraine 2012. Golden medals were given to positions of the Curtis (Truffle Black Tea, Chocolate Black Tea, Original Ceylon Tea) and positions of the Maisky (Golden Pekoe and Buhta Colombo). 

2013

The Company went through an internal audit in ISO 9001:2008 and a compliance audit by McDonalds suppliers standards.

2014

The Company went through an iterative internal audit in ISO 9001:2008, a compliance audit by McDonalds suppliers standard SQMS, and on-line self-assessment on Social accountability by McDonalds suppliers standards.

The Company conducted the re-certification compliance audit by IFS Food Standard, Issue 6 and was evaluated with the highest scoring possibility “A”: Full compliance with the requirement specified in the Standard.

2015

The launch of the new trademark Richard - a classic English tea. 

The Company went through a compliance audit by McDonalds suppliers standard SQMS and was evaluated with the highest score “A”

Present time

Applying modern technologies of production and contemporary management strategies, developing information infrastructure, and implementing the world quality standards, the May Company Ukraine  aims at holding the leading market position and accomplishing its the Mission.
